| We are committed to protecting your privacy. We
use the information we collect on this Website (the “Site”) to help us identify
and communicate with you and to provide you with outstanding customer service.
We will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information, including
electronic data, custom settings, and user login profile information to outside
parties. We protect your information using industry standard encryption technologies.
Please read the following policy for additional information on how we
protect your privacy.
This policy may change from time to time so please check back periodically
as your continued use of the Site will signify your acceptance of any revisions
to our privacy policy. If we make any material changes in this policy that effect
the personally identifiable information that you have shared, we will post a
highlight notice on the Welcome page inside the Site for a minimum of one billing
cycle. If we are going to use the personally identifiable information that you
have shared in a manner different than what was stated at the time of collection,
we will send you an e-mail to notify you prior to the change and will give you
the opportunity to opt-out of having your information used in the new manner.
We welcome your questions and comments about privacy. Please send them via
e-mail to privacy@southernlec.com.
What information do we collect from you?
When you log onto the Site for the first time, we gather your e-mail address,
your answer to a security question, and your account preferences. We also collect
IP addresses and automatically log standard access information including browser
type, access times, and usage statistics.
How do we use it?
We gather this information to help us identify and communicate with you in the
event you forget your password. We will also periodically send you e-mails to
notify you when new electronic data is available for analysis and when new features
and services become available. We may use specific information about our users
to develop and inform you of supplemental or new services. We use IP addresses
to analyze trends, administer the Site, track user’s movement, and gather broad
demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally
identifiable information. We automatically log standard access information including
browser type, access times, and usage statistics for administering our systems,
detecting usage patterns and other troubleshooting purposes. How do you update
or change the information we collect? You may update or change information related
to your account by accessing the user profile section of this Site.
Do we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?
We do not sell or disclose any personally identifiable information we collect
from you to outside parties. As described above, identifiable information is
only used to help us identify you in the event you forget your password, to
communicate with you, and to provide you with customer service. We may, however,
disclose aggregate, statistical information about our users and how they use
the Site to outside parties.
How do we protect your information?
Your account is password protected so that unauthorized third parties do not
have access to your personal information. We recommend that you do not give
your password out to anyone. We will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited
phone call or in an unsolicited e-mail. Remember to log out of your account
by clicking the Logout button or close your browser window when you have finished
your work. This ensures that others cannot access your account or personal information
if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public
place.
We use the industry standard encryption, 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
When you log onto the Site you may use the Enhanced Security Login page to choose
which information to transmit in SSL encrypted format. By default, all payment
related transmissions are SSL encrypted. At your option, you may set your user
login, registration, and user profile transmissions to be SSL encrypted. You
may also choose to have your entire session SSL encrypted for the highest level
of security. In addition, we store all password and payment information in encrypted
format.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to
be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information,
we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to
us or from our online products or services, and you do so at your own risk.
Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure that it
remains secure on our systems.
Do we use e-mail links?
We use e-mail links located on the Help page and throughout the Site to allow
you to request customer service and find answers to questions about your bill.
We may also retain your feedback about the Site to make enhancements and improve
the services. As described above, personally identifiable information is only
used to help us identify you in the event you forget your password, to communicate
with you, and to provide you with customer service.
